How did Highest Potential come to be?
I first took on the domain www.highestpotential.ie about four years ago, aiming to use it as an umbrella that would cover a range of holistic wellbeing and positive self-development options. These would include my own Neuromuscular Therapy treatments, fitness, books and mindfulness offerings along with other services in my locality of Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. I'm a firm believer that we don't have to go far to find talented and experienced professionals. These include healthcare options but also sustainability options, off-grid options and even day-to-day services that are more eco-friendly in nature. I hoped to build a network to create awareness around the options available and give locals easier access to services they can benefit from.
This website, which I intentionally made .ie rather than .com to show that it is home-grown, has been lying in wait while I worked on books, other writings and recordings to create content for when the site went live.
Much of what I hope to achieve with this site, and the community it connects, is based around my book, "What to do with Stardust?" in that it has a large focus on health and wellbeing but also around individuals and groups finding ways to use the gifts we all have to create the lives we want.
"The only constant in the universe is change"
Our current situation has brought about a lot of change for all of us, myself included. In fact the past year of lockdowns has given me time to work on this website and its contents, along with nudging me toward making new connections with other like-minded people.
I believe that with all this change going on anyway, we have a real opportunity to break away from old habits that no longer serve us and building new ones that will. These can include old values and ways of living that were more harmonious, less hectic, more personal, less pressured, more supportive and less restrictive. These can also include the best of our new knowledge and technologies.
So what's the plan?
They say that "Man makes plans and God laughs" so I'll call it an intention instead.
Highest potential has an intention to get people together, bring the best of what we all have to offer and use it where it is most useful. I'm hoping that the work and the results will be interesting, fulfilling and exciting for all of us... Highest potential might end up being an umbrella to give us a little cover or a safety net that gives us some security in an uncertain world. It could very well evolve as more people come together. At the very least, i expect it will give us a chance to create the kind of future we want and I, for one, am very hopeful about how that future will look...
